You’d imagine that the Italian national holiday would be celebrated when our soccer team wins the World Cup… but no! It’s today that we are commemorating the 64th anniversary of our republic, which was declared on June 2, 1946.
To mark the occasion, I suggest that you buy some «bresaola» and prepare a delicious starter in the colours of our national flag.
Bresaola is simply a beef filet that is first cured and left to dry naturally. You can find Quebec bresaola in the meat sections of many supermarkets. In case you can’t find it, dried beef or prosciutto will do just as well.
