We always eagerly await them, and finally, local strawberries are arriving on our shelves. Depending on the variety, the strawberry ripening season extends from May to September in the Northern Hemisphere. Because they are picked at peak ripeness and travel a short distance from the field to our plates, local strawberries have exceptional taste and nutritional value. Take advantage of the season to try our strawberry recipes.

A little addition of lemon and balsamic vinegar will bring out the full fragrance of the strawberries, even when they are not yet fully ripe.
The combination of strawberry and chocolate is an absolute classic, as the rich and intense taste of chocolate (particularly that with more than 70% cocoa) perfectly complements the tangy and sweet flavor of the strawberry.
Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C, a good source of potassium, and a source of folic acid, pantothenic acid, and magnesium. They are said to be tonic, cleansing, and diuretic.
