Valentine’s Day: “To dessert or not to dessert”?

February 7, 2013 ,

If you are eating out on Valentine’s Day, decide ahead of time whether or not you will order dessert.

If it’s a no, then don’t even bother looking at the menu or the tray.

If it’s a yes, enjoy it without feeling guilty or as though you have gone off your program, as it’s ok to indulge from time to time.

To control calories, choose fruit, sorbet, or frozen yogurt, all of which are lighter than cakes, pies, and ice cream. If you go for the latter, share it with your Valentine or ask for a half a serving. You might also opt for a flavoured coffee.

If instead you will be eating at home, we have already planned for you a Healthy Valentine’s Menu. So be happy and don’t worry. By the way, here’s a few other desserts you may also enjoy:
