From sprint to marathon

23 août, 2011

Note by Cinzia: Our regular readers already know our team member Éloïse, through the articles that she has written here on Pestoblog. In her latest article here, we learn two things: Firstly, that her university course at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy keeps her super busy. And secondly, that the members of the SOSCuisine team are « A+ » 😉

From the time that I was a student in Quebec, the end of term always reminded me of a sprint. It required maximum effort but it got over quickly.

In Italy, exam sessions are divided into two parts: some exams are held in July and others at the start of the new academic year. I get the feeling that what seemed like a sprint in Quebec has turned into an out-and-out marathon in Italy!

What’s more, we only get three weeks of holidays here! Canadian students, you don’t know how lucky you are!

In July, the exams for History of Wine, Crop Production, Oenology, Ecological horticulture and sustainable agriculture and Italian followed one after the other. These five subjects had fascinated me so much that I obtained five ‘30 e lode’, which is the equivalent of an A+ in Canada. I had definitely earned my three-week holiday!

It’s almost time for me to return to university again, but I’m really looking forward to going back to Bra because ‘Cheese’, a festival that promotes ‘excellence in cheese production’ is being held there.

No doubt, this will really motivate me to dive back into my animal production books… between 2 tastings! 😉

Till then, I’m spending the last few days of my holiday working with the Montreal team on developing new (and always as delicious) specialized SOSCuisine meal plans that will go online in October.
